The Institution Mixte Le Phare des Anges primary school began back in 2018 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti!
Taking Shape has partnered with the Le Phare Orphanage and the community of Terre Noir to open a new primary school and activity center. This location is where children in the community can receive a quality, consistent, and safe education. In addition, Taking Shape will be able to consistently offer daily meals, our leadership camps and after school activities for the kids in this community. Despite the many challenges during the pandemic, including civil unrest and political turmoil, our Haitian and U.S. leaders remained determined to open IMPA. Teachers welcomed their first students of the 2022-2023 school year on December 5! Taking Shape would like to thank all of our monthly sponsors, Star affiliate members, donors, volunteers, and supporters who have made this vision a reality. |
